Privacy Policy for PaperDrop
Privacy Policy and Data Handling for the PaperDrop iOS and Android App
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how PaperDrop (the "App") developed by cavecafe.cc ("we", "us", "our") handles data on your device. We are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience.
1. Data Collection & Transmission (Your Server Only)
PaperDrop is designed to work only with the Paperless-ngx server you connect it to.
- Zero Server Storage: We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, scanned documents, or camera images to our servers or any third parties. We operate no servers that the App talks to.
- Your Server Only: Documents you choose to send, and the requests needed to list, search and open your documents, go to your own Paperless-ngx server and nowhere else. How that server handles them is decided by whoever runs it.
- On-Device Storage: The server address and API token are kept in the secure storage of your device (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android) and removed when you disconnect the server. Scanned pages and documents waiting to upload are kept in the App's private storage and deleted once the upload succeeds or you discard them. Presets, theme and language are stored on the device.
2. Required System Permissions
To provide its core functionality, the App requests access to specific system resources. These permissions are only used locally:
- Camera Access: Used to scan documents.
- Photo Picker: When you import pages from your photos, the system photo picker gives the App only the images you select.
- Network Access: Used to reach your Paperless-ngx server.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time through the system settings of your device.
3. Analytics and Advertising
- No Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs, trackers, or advertising networks inside the App.
- Anonymous Store Statistics: We only receive aggregate, anonymous download statistics provided by Apple and Google through App Store Connect and the Google Play Console, which do not contain any personally identifiable information.
4. This Website
This website sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. The company hosting it may keep standard access logs.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or platform security guidelines. Any updates will be published directly on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
